2. Explore the Nearby Fall Foliage

The Hill Country offers some incredible spots to experience the changing leaves, from golden yellows to deep reds.  Consider taking a day trip to Garner State Park or Lost Maples State Natural Area to find a blend of fall foliage and scenic landscapes.  These locations will give your portraits a classic autumnal feel, full of rich, seasonal hues!

3. Photograph Your Child’s Halloween Costume

Halloween is one of the highlights of fall, and what better way to commemorate it than by photographing your child in their costume?  Whether they’re dressed as a superhero, a fairytale character, or something spooky, their excitement and creativity will shine through in the photos.  These portraits will not only capture the fun of Halloween, but also serve as a unique and memorable way to document your child’s personality at this stage in life.

I don't remember who this Star Wars character was, but apparently he jumped pretty high!  When I photograph kids in their Halloween costume, I always ask them what their character does and then they try to act it out for me.  This gets them extra engaged in their Halloween portraits!
