Mother’s Day Portraits in Fredericksburg, TX

“Let’s do a surprise for Mama!” This girl shows her love for people by making and giving gifts. Crafts and projects are her jam! Planning surprises for others brings her joy! Often, you will find her hidden away in her art “studio” creating gifts for people. Sometimes she’ll do batches of drawings or colorings, roll each of them up like a scroll, seal them with washi tape or colorful yarn, and hand them out to strangers she sees when the family goes to town. She fills envelopes with crafts and drawings she’s done and mails them to people she loves. She has a sweet, giving heart!

So when this little one wanted to do a surprise for Mama, naturally it was going to happen, this time, in the form of portraits of her Mama’s two best girls! She helped plan the concept of the photos; she helped choose the outfits (thanks to Natural Baby in downtown Fredericksburg for the sweet outfits!); she helped choose the flowers. And when it came time to do the photo shoot, she worked her hardest to keep her baby sister engaged!

We did the girls’ portraits at a small, Fredericksburg park next to H-E-B. We needed something with simple greenery, few distractions, and, of course, pretty evening light! This isn’t a spot I would ordinarily photograph at, but for this sweet and simple photo shoot, it was perfection!
